Awareness class on Cyber Laws

Exhibition of Gandhian Literature

In connection with Gandhi Jayanthi celebration, College library organized Seven Day Exhibition of the collected works of Gandhiji and related literature on 02.10.2015, as part of the attempt to impart Gandhian values to the younger generation.  Former Union Minister Sri.Vayalar Ravi MP, inaugurated the programme.  Sri.K.P.Noorudheen, College Manager, Adv.Sunny Joseph MLA, Dr.M.J.Mathew Principal and Sri.Sunil Kumar.K.M., Librarian spoke on the occasion.

Mahatma Gandhi Statue unveiled

Statue of Mahatma Gandhi was unveiled on the college campus on 2nd October, 2015 by former Union Minister, Sri. Vayalar Ravi, MP in a colourful and solemn function that marked the beginning of the month long Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration on the campus. Sri. K P Noorudheen, Ex – Minister and College Manager presided over the function. Principal, Dr. M J Mathew presented the report. Adv. Sunny Joseph MLA, Sri. Abdul Rasheed, President, Keezhur Chavassery Panchayath, Sri. Baby John Pinappillil, Sri. P V Narayanan, Sri. K V Ramachandran, PTA Vice President spoke on the occasion.

The College Magazine, 2015 – ‘Moonnamathoru Nizhal’ was released on 30th Sept, 2015 by the world renowned Sopanam Artist, Sri, Njaralathu Hari Govindan in a colourful and aesthetically sublime function organized at the college auditorium. Principal, Dr. M J Mathew presided over and Sri. Rejeesh E welcomed the gathering. Dr. Reji Paikkattu, HOD, English, Sri. Sunil Kurian, Student Editor, Ms. Alinda Joseph and Ashish Francis felicitated on the occasion.

MG Book Fair

College Library in association with Kairali Books, Kannur organized a book fair in the college on 17th and 18th Sept, 2015. Books on a wide range of topics were available with attractive discount. Dr. M J. Mathew, Principal inaugurated the programme. Sri. Sunil Kumar, Librarian and Dr. K V Devadhasan, Dr. Reji Paikkattu and Dr. Jayasagar Adieri spoke on the occasion.  

The College Clearer Guidance and Placement Cell organized a one day workshop on 17th September, 2015 to impart life changing skills and empowering techniques to tackle the emerging challenges and also utilize potential to effect individual growth and social development in the context of building up a better world. Mrs. Preetha Varma from SB Global Educational Resources Pvt. Ltd. Wsa the resource person. Dr. M J. Mathew, Principal inaugurated the programme. Dr. Swarupa R, Co-ordinator, CGP Cell and Sri. Rejeesh E, Dept. of Computer Science spoke on the occasion.

IES Topper Felicitated

A programme to felicitate Ms.Dona Francis, the All India Level topper in the Indian Statistical Service Examination (ISS) was organized at Mahatma Gandhi College.  Minister for Rural Development Sri.K.C.Joseph inaugurated the function.  Principal Dr.Mathew.M.J. presided over and Adv.Sunny Joseph, MLA delivered keynote address.  Dr.Reji Paikkattu, Dr.Swarupa.R., Dr.Bijumon.R., Dr.Aneesh Kumar.K. spoke on the occasion.  The programme provided an added exposure to the student community at M.G.College towards fresh and rewarding vistas  of opportunities in diverse streams of Indian Civil Service.  Ms.Dona Francis talked about the winnings strategies in the context of ISS and Indian Economic Service Examinations.

Akshara Jyothi Organized

Under the auspices of College Library, Akshara Jyothi was celebrated on 8th September 2015 as part of which the faculty members, the staff and the students lighted candles and took a solemn pledge to keep away from antisocial tendencies,  cruelty towards women and children and all destructive behavioral pattern for the evolution of a harmonious society.  Dr.M.J.Mathew the Principal,  read out the pledge and Dr.Reji Paikkattu, Pramod Kumar.K.V., Lt.Jithesh.K., Rejeesh.E., Dr.Aneesh Kumar.K. and Mrs.Geetha.C. lead  the programme.

Onam Celebration of M.G.College fraternity

Onam, the National Festival of Kerala was celebrated in a mood of festivity and joy on 21st August 2015 at Mahatma Gandhi College.  Competitions related to the making of flower carpets, cultural events and distribution of payasam (sweets) characterized the day thereby making it a memorable occasion for the days to come.

Insightful Folklore extravaganza at M G College

On 19th August, 2015, there was the performance of ‘Kalamezhuthum Pattum Thiriyuzhichilum’ at the College Auditorium by Sri. Sudheer Mullurkara and Party belonging to Thrissur. The programme was organized under the auspices of College Folklore Club with  the help of Kerala Folklore Academy. Principal Dr. M J Mathew inaugurated the programme and Dr. Sheeja N, Convener, Folklore Club welcomed the gathering. Dr. Meera M and Mrs. Maya spoke on the occasion. In addition to the students and the staff, a significant number of people of the region came to witness the folklore art form having the rich undertones of theological wisdom dating back to classic days of civilization.
